Double railway project Rododafni – Rio

The contractor scheme TERNA S.A. - MYTILINEOS S.A. has undertaken the railway Project ‘’Construction of railway stations and stops (buildings, docks, shelter and surrounding area), infrastructure, electrification, signaling, remote control, ETCS, telecommunications and IT facilities of the Panagopoula tunnel for the New Kiato - Patras Railway Line in the Rododafni - Rio section’’, with an initial budget of 141 million euros.

The owner of the Project is ERGA OSE SA. The kick-start date of the Project is 22.11.2022 with a construction period of 36 months from the signing of the contract and a completion date expected by the end of 2025.

Briefly, the scope of the Project concerns:

• Construction of 28.8 km of double railway infrastructure from the entrance of Railway Station Rododafni CH.TH. 193+950 until after the end of the underground project (Cover and Cut) Rio X.Th. 222+750, equipped with a modern telecommunications system, 25kV/50Hz electric drive, electric drive remote control and a modern signalling, remote control and ETCS level 1 system.
• From scratch construction of 4 new Railway Stations (Rododafni, Selianitika, Kamares, Agios Vasilios), 3 new Railway Stations (Psathopyrgos, Arachovitika and Rio)
• Construction of the IT facilities inside the Panagopoula tunnel and its service buildings
